Customer Spotlight: Angela's Journey with Precision Builders' Porter Barndo
My husband and I built the Porter Barndo Series with Precision Builders, and the experience was absolutely incredible.
We started with the original floor plan and made a few key adjustments to better suit our needs. Some of the most impactful changes included adding kitchen windows, creating a spacious walk-in pantry, and transforming the garage into a versatile interior space with a half bath.
In the kitchen, we removed one wall of upper cabinets along the back and replaced them with five tall windows and a deep farmhouse sink. This opened up the space beautifully, bringing in abundant natural light and providing clean, uncluttered counters that are perfect for entertaining.
To create the pantry, we downsized the original oversized laundry area—which wasn’t a priority for us—and eliminated an extra hallway into the living room. This allowed us to expand the living room for better TV viewing and to add a 6x12 walk-in pantry with one wall featuring 8-foot built-in shelving.
Since we planned to build a separate metal shop, we opted to repurpose the garage into a more usable interior area. This space now includes a covered side entry, an 11x12 room with sink connections, a half bath, and a water heater closet. It’s a flexible space we use as an office, mudroom, or extra storage.
Our final layout includes three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms.
Choosing to build with Precision Builders was one of the best decisions we made. The entire process was straightforward, cost-effective, and supported by a professional, knowledgeable team. We plan for this to be our forever home—but if we ever build again, we would absolutely choose Precision Builders.
